Ice Damage Your Vehicle?

Did falling ice or broken tree limbs damage your car or truck?

When an ice storm comes through the area, it can leave the landscape looking beautiful! But there can be a downside too, the falling limbs can wreak havoc on your ride.
Ice damage can fall under two categories: ice or snow falling off of a roof, or other structure; tree limbs, or other objects weighted down to the breaking point, by ice or heavy snow.
After an ice storm passes through your area, its likely there will be tree limbs that cant take the weight, and will snap off. Sometimes these limbs or other objects, will strike your car, leaving a dent. Occasionally the damage is too large for traditional paintless dent repair, and a body shop is necessary to repair the damage. Oftentimes the damage is minimal, and therefore perfect for repair using the paintless dent removal method.
How do you know if your damage is right for PDR or a body shop? First, lets look at the size of the damage in comparison to the panel. Is the whole panel smashed? That might be a good candidate for the body shop. Is there just a few dents, even a larger dent, or dents, that you would consider 25% or less of the total surface area of the panel? That would be a good indicator that paintless dent repair might be a viable option. Is the paint cracked or otherwise compromised? That would be another indicator, that a body shop might be the best option, however, don’t necessarily count out paintless dent repair as an alternative. Even if the paint is compromised, we may still be able to repair the dented area, and touch up the crack, or scratch. In severe cases, like on the roof, we may be able to keep from having the panel cut off and replaced, by repairing the damaged area, and working with a body shop to have a smaller area finished and repainted.
